Stay In The Water!

We are all familiar with the story of Jesus and the disciples when they were fearful in the boat. Jesus summoned Peter to walk on the water towards him, and he did so momentarily. The split moment he began to let fear slither into his being, he began the sink and drown. After analyzing this story, I thought to myself-why is it that when God gives us a directive, we follow it for a while and stray, or don’t follow it at all? Why can’t we seem to get it right…and keep it right? I mean if God wants us to be the head and not the tail, below and not beneath, highly favored, etc…why aren’t we? Success awaits us, it has been entrusted to us, we have been empowered to walk in it. We can’t just wait for it to fall in our laps and expect it to all be smooth sailing! What I would like for you to do is not just envision yourself walking on the water; but actually diving in and swimming in it!

Just like a scuba diver jumps in a lake or the ocean water to find life species or treasures, so must you do the same to find your treasure! Your treasure is in trusting that God will lead you, He will provide for you, He will sustain you!

Fear, doubt, procrastination are the drowning agents of your destiny. Nothing can quickly zap out your calling than these things.

Let me let you in on one of my passions. I absolutely love the being in the atmosphere of the ocean. It’s serenity, its peacefulness, its calming effect does wonders. The coolness of the water just sets me to a place of euphoric contentment. Same goes for a nice, elegant pool setting (but not at as high of a level). But guess what? I can’t swim a lick. Now, does that stop me from getting in the water, even jumping in the water? Not one bit. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not stupid, I am not going to put my life in jeopardy, I do use wisdom when I am frolicking in the waves. I am trying to make a point here. As I am jumping the water, I trust GOD enough that I know that I won’t drown, there won’t a chance of unfortunate mishaps to occurs. So the same should be with your life plan. When God gives you a plan, He trusts that you have enough in you to perform it. He trusts that you trust HIM enough to know that He will not allow you not to fail.

So what are you waiting for? The water is waiting for you to jump in. You will not regret what where it leads you. Treasure awaits!

Stick to It!

When I accomplish a goal, I often ask myself, “What have I become to achieve this goal?” An often time, the answer to that question excites me more than the goal itself!

This is a very interesting saying that I came across just now. And it really makes me think deep about the meaning within, who have I became, what I have accomplished all these years and what had happened so far.

The majority of us set our goals to succeed in something. Whether it is having a successful business, becoming a millionaire, losing 50 pounds, or having a high power career, we feel as though we have arrived.  There is nothing wrong with this, but you should remember that the reward you receive from reaching your goals is just the fruit, the by-product.  What really matters is the transformation of you along the way.

Yes, think about it. Who we are going to become in our journey of pursuing our dreams and our goals  are the REAL rewards. Once you have travelled the path, you will realize that you will eventually become a different person, regardless of whether you successfully accomplished your goals.

If you set a specific goal earlier this year and you accomplished it, chances are you were more confident and committed this year.

If you failed to achieve your goal from earlier this year, you may not feel so confident or committed as you would like, but please do not give up and do not feel disappointed. Pick yourself up, trust and believe that although you didn’t get it done in the past, you are going to get it done!  Tell yourself that even though you did not accomplish it, you have learned something and have thus grown to be a better person than before.

As long as you learn something and never give up, you are not considered as a failure. Victory is still within your grasp! Somehow you learned something and you changed, you move a little closer toward your goals and you now have more experience.

When you think back about the first part of this year and what you have done, do you feel proud or do you feel unsatisfied? Only you can answer this question.

If you have achieved your targets, you may feel great and satisfy. However, if you failed to accomplish what you have set, you may feel unsatisfied or disappointed and you might wish to turn back time. We all know that we cannot turn back the time, what we can do right now is to learn from our past. Learn from it and decide now that we are not going to live another mediocre year this time.

Now that this is the second part of the year, what are you going to do? Contrary to what you think, you can have a brand new beginning. You can achieve a lot of what you want in just one year. Work all the way out and put in 100% commitment to achieve all your dreams and goals!

SUPERSTAR!

We all like different types of movies. Whether it is a comedy, drama, or action packed, there are just certain movies that grab you- the plot, no matter how goofy, crazy, intriguing it is, grabs us. We think our favorite movies are the best written scripts ever.
Just like movies are directed with the purpose that the script written will depict a blockbuster hit, so are lives need to be directed in such a manner that it is a block buster hit! I say this not in a way that brings bragging or boasting, but to live out you life the way God has written the script!
News Flash: God has designed you to be a SUPERSTAR. Brand that in your mind. You are a superstar to whatever HE has called you to do. Whatever that thing is that you know that you are supposed to do, do it! If you are already walking in it…make sure you are doing it in excellence! Your script is original, not to be replicated, not to be edited, not to be archived.
So what if you didn’t follow the script to a “T”…pull out the director’s manual (BIBLE), and get back on track! Follow the plan that is laid out before you, as it is revealed to you. God is just waiting to give you a standing ovation for the performance of your life!
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome." Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

Time For An Upgrade!

If you own a computer, you are well aware that we must keep up with and utilize the latest and greatest system innovations and programs. We have to upgrade them. Most often we find out about it by updates we receive from computer land, telling us of version 6.0 of this and that is coming out soon, and in order for current loaded programs to function in conjunction, we have to upgrade, or risk our systems not performing at maximum performance.

Just as a computer requires an upgrade, so do we.

Understand, that we cannot function at maximum performance unless we are willing to do “life checkups”, to pinpoint areas where we need to change and improve. God wants us operating in our very best mode-not some has been, worn down, outdated, ready to burn out model of His image.

You say—but I don’t want to change, or I don’t know how to begin to change. Interesting enough, it is something that we have to deal with in some form or fashion, whether we initiate it or not. Change lives, moves, breathes all around us. You might as well yield to it. You cannot function at 100%, with 60% focus, persistence, goals, efforts, or vision. Half efforts bring half results. Inconsistency was not designed to reside in your DNA. Your dreams alone should incite a riot in your spirit to do whatever it takes to stay at the top of your game, which will ultimately bring you the success that God has already promised you.

If you truly are stuck in how to upgrade yourself, try the R.I.P. Method:

1) REALIZE. Realize that you do need an upgrade. Stop making excuses of why you are where you’re at, and why it is ok. IT IS NOT.

2) IDENTIFY. Indentify where you need the upgrade to take place. Perhaps it is your business. Revamp your marketing, your networking, your brand. Maybe it is your relationships. In order to make friends and positive connections, you must be what you desire. Are you friendly, are you consistent in your communications? Maybe it is your health. What do you feed your temple? Are you at your desired weight? Do you get enough sleep? Do you reside in a stress free zone? Or, how do you look to you? Contrary to what others may tell you, how you feel about how you look from the inside, can tell the story of how people see you from the outside. Low self esteem can wear so well. Often times it shows via eye contact, voice, posture and speech. It can easily affect what you physically wear.

3) PRODUCE. Produce the changes that you have identified. Determine to take steps, whether large or small. Just begin.

Affirmation: I see. I change. I become. Excellence is mines.

Step Up to The Plate!

The game is 9th inning. Bases loaded. You are up to bat. You step up to the plate. Are you ready to hit a home run, to win the game? Just likened to this baseball game victory scenario, you have to be equally prepared to hit a home run to have a successful life. Ask yourself, are you prepared to win the game?  The following are three things that will prepare you to win the game winning MVP of your life!

1) You have to work on your mind! Your mind can keep you from going places that your skills are more than capable of doing? Feed your mind with positivity!! Read your bible, there is life changing word that gives us direction, hope, faith and focus! Listen to motivational messages or read motivational books! Develop a routine of incorporating these things in your life on a daily basis. Maintain a mindset that things are great, no matter what!

2) You have a plan? Work on your skills. Take some courses. Invest in a seminar. Read how-to books. Get a coach or a mentor. Ask questions!  Success is waiting on you, but can you handle it or maintain it once you find it?

3) It is time for a relationship upgrade!  Hook up with people that achievement driven, not just day to day living! Most of those that will end up being divine connections for your dreams will be strangers! Don’t lean on the familiar so much when it is YOUR dream that stands to blossom or wilt.  Get outside of your comfort zone!

Remember…this is YOUR game.  It is your choice whether you win or lose. Batter up!
